Every time I meet a black person over the after of 50 or so they always ask if I am named after the Brown Bambino. My father, who is not a fan of baseball, picked my name as an alternative to, I kid you not, Israel, which my mother vetoed. Still, this Josh Gibson was apparently as famous in his day as any baseball player. Someday, I hope to be famous enough that I displace my fellow Gibson in the Google ratings.
