One of my favorite music crix, Michaelangelo Matos, has a a new column where he writes about great songs from shitty albums. But I must admit: I kinda like Aimee Mann's cover of "What the World Needs Now." There's something, well, charming about hearing the song sung by someone who sounds like she just took a valium.
