I hate that Armond White has the power to momentarily make me feel guilty for liking Rize and not You Got Served and Drumline.

tim knows my love for drumline, but i'm not sure if i've voiced my hatred of LaChappelle -- I hate him. he's a hack who makes terrible music videos and his photography is disgusting.
There's no doubt that LaChapelle's video and photog work has gotten tired. But I think some of his early work (specifically a great Smashing Pumpkins spread, portraits of Bowie/2Pac/Pam Anderson, Moby's "Natural Blues" video) is really solid.
As for RIZE, I thought it was sloppy and all over the place but ultimately entertaining and moving.
Oh and you think his photography is "disguisting"? Are you Pat Robertson?
disgusting in the fact that it's just terrible to look at. it's a trainwreck of colors and i'd rather avert my eyes from it.
