Things that are making Thursday A-OK.
- The current issue of the LA Weekly.
(a) David Thomson has a lovely essay on a childhood viewing of Olivier's Henry V.
(b) Scott Foundas introduces me to Super Happy Fun and Five Minutes to Live (you mean I can get a DVD copy of Sam Fuller's notorious White Dog? Best!).
(c) The Weekly adds to the sea of Lunar Park-related Bellis profiles... and it's actually pretty good. - New Kanye West.
- This factoid:
When Marcello, the titular character in The Conformist, is given the phone number of the man he must assassinate, that was Jean-Luc Godard's real home number. - Tomorrow's Friday.
2 Comments:
The Marcello factoid blows my mind.
Just realized that Dominique Sanda, in addition to playing Anna in "The Conformist", was also in De Sica's "Garden of the Finzi-Continis" and Bresson's "Une Femme Douce", all in the same year.
nice dvd releases including edward II.
